Lookin' for something to do this upcoming Friday? Grab some grub and settle down in the B104 Free Music Tent at the McLean County Fair, located at the Interstate Center at 2301 W. Market St. in Bloomington, IL. Anjanel will be performing from 5-7pm. Her niece, Sterling Lally, also shares a love of singing and will be performing a song that evening as well. So, come on down and cheer on Sterling as she makes her singing debut.
Want to make it a full evening. Just after Anjanel's performance, stroll on down to the grand stand and watch Borderline and headliner, Chuck Wick's. It's sure to be a great night of music!
Bloomington – What’s more American than tailgating, football and country music? The Bloomington Extreme and the U.S. Cellular Coliseum are teaming up with the Illinois Country Music Association, Inc. (ICMA) for their June 6th game against the Wichita Wild. For that game, $5 of the $15 ticket price will go to the ICMA, a non-profit organization. Arrive at the game early and enjoy performances by ICMA’s talented musicians outside of the main entrance of the Coliseum starting at 5:30 p.m. After the game, ticketholders are encouraged to stick-around for a post-game concert on the field during fanfest by the ICMA’s rising stars.
Want to make it a full day of fun? Prior to the Extreme game, ICMA will
be hosting a tailgate picnic at Miller Park in Bloomington. Bring some
tailgate munchies and enjoy a free concert from 3-5:30 p.m. at the Miller
Park stage as members of the ICMA perform. Kids and adults alike will
enjoy lawn games while listening to talented local performers. The tailgate
is free and open to the public.

The Illinois Country Music Association, Inc. is an organization for country music performers and fans. Anjanel will officially announce the release of her follow-up album "Back to Basics" with her new commercial spot airing on the Eddie Bear Show on B104, May 10th from 7-10pm.

First Annual Heartland Community CollegeFormer Heartland students are invited to reconnect with the College at Heartland's first annual Alumni Association event -- titled "Back to the Nest" -- from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 16. The event will take place in the quad area on the College's main campus located at 1500 W. Raab Rd., Normal, IL.
Though geared toward Heartland alumni and current students, community members also are invited to attend the event to explore the campus and join in several activities, including:
* trolley tours of campus
* free food and beverages from Redbird Catering
* athletic challenges, games, and inflatables
* the Normal Fire Department's "Survive Alive" House
* face painting by the Zoo Lady
* "I.D. A Kid" -- a child safety identification program sponsored by Prudential Financial
* a performance by the family-friendly Biscuits n Gravy Band from 4-6pm and also Anjanel Folkens during the Biscuits n Gravy's break at approx. 5pm.
Alumni attending the event will have an opportunity to join the growing Heartland Community College alumni association by officially registering for free membership. In addition, members who sign up at Back to the Nest will be given a key that could potentially open a unique "treasure chest" of prizes at the event.
